The Lodge
Built for powder days —
and everything after.
Arrival
Boots off.
Settle in.
The boot room is right on the way in, so skis, boards and wet gear are dealt with before you step inside. Drop your bags and make yourself at home.
Inside are nine rooms, a fireside lounge, the Namazu bar and The Table at Konamori, with a sauna and hot tub waiting at the end of the day. Small enough that by the second morning, the place runs on first names.
The rhythm
A day at Konamori.
Every day is yours, but good powder days tend to find the same rhythm: check what fell, fuel up and ski until your legs vote no, then let the lodge do the rest.
- 6:30
- Coffee's on. First look outside to see if it's still dumping.
- 7:00
- Breakfast — cooked, generous, built for first chair.
- 8:30
- Warm boots on, three-minute walk, skis on at the Tangram base.
- 15:30
- Boots off. Cold beer at the bar while the best laps get relived.
- 17:00
- Sauna, hot tub, snow falling on the other side of the glass.
- 18:30
- Dinner at the long table. Everyone's day, and tomorrow's plan.
- Later
- A drink by the fire, or straight to bed. Tomorrow, do it again.
The lounge 居間
Where the day
gets talked about.
Deep seating, a wood-burning stove you can sit close enough to feel, wool underfoot, and a wall of black-and-white mountain prints. Books, a chess set, and the particular tiredness that only good snow gives you.
The bar and The Table at Konamori are a few steps away — breakfast, après and dinner have their own page.
Recovery 湯
Boots off. Sauna on.
Snow outside.
Come off the lift, hang up your gear and step into the sauna or hot tub. Cedar, steam, and the forest on the other side of the glass.
The ski room
Heated boot storage and drying racks. Boots warm in the morning, gloves dry by six, and the lift a three-minute walk from the door.
The corridors
Nine large black-and-white prints of this mountain and the people who ride it, framed in walnut along the halls.
The reception
Lift tickets, rentals, transfers, dinner bookings in the villages, lessons in English — all arranged here, by someone who knows the valley.
